Eevee was lost.
At least, he felt like he was lost. He was in the middle of a random field, in the middle of nowhere, unsure of what he had been doing there in the first place. Wandering most likely. He had a bad habit of getting lost in his thoughts, and finding himself in bad situations. His peers tended to stay in the pack, close to one another, always looking for reasons to travel or do anything really, together. But not this Eevee. No, he enjoyed the solitude. The quiet. The slight breeze in the air and the sun on his face.
"What are you doing here, Eevee?" The young cub whipped around to face the person who had called him out. He blushed in chagrin as the Espeon in charge of his clan came over, having a knowing look gracing her face.
"I was just..." He said, trailing off. "I was just wandering." She nodded and looked up at the sky for a moment. Eevee followed her gaze but sharply turned his gaze away. She was staring directly at the sun.
"Doesn't that hurt?" Eevee asked, rubbing the sharp glare from his eyes. "To stare at the sun like that? I mean, it's so bright!" The espeon chuckled and patted the Eevee on the head.
"I'm the Evolution of the Sun." She said simply, placing her hands on her folded legs. "The sun does no damage to me. My eyes are more than adjusted to the beauty of the Suns powerful rays." She smiled and tilted her head at the Eevee.
"Then, does that mean that I'll never be able to do that?" He asked, looking at the Espeon curiously. "I mean, look at the sun?" Espeon looked up thoughtfully for a moment.
"Well, that all depends." She remarked. "The wonderful thing about being an Eevee is that we can adapt and change to fit our real purpose. What were really meant to do." Eevee looked up for a moment. He thought about what his real purpose was. Did he even know what his real purpose was? Did he know what he wanted to do? He felt a gentle touch on his shoulder and he looked into the Espeon's eyes, and found her to be looking at him knowingly.
"Just be you, little one." She said, smiling happily. "Carefree and adventurous. And someday, you'll shine brightly for everyone to see. Like the sun."
