The Yule Aftermath.

" You know, the party's inside right?" Her voice was soft, coming from the soft lit glow that bestowed itself upon the earth. I hadn't anticipated a visitor, considering the way the night was going, it would be my luck.

The sun was set already, but it still remained a pleasing peach tone that reflected in the lakes mirror like surface. I stared at it, ignoring her voice as best I could. I needed some air.

"It's not like you to walk out on the rest of us." She continued, making her way closer to me. She rested a delicate hand on the tree closest me, without actually approaching me and making me face her. This was unlike Rose. She was usually forward and very blunt. Courageous, even though she hadn't been sorted into Griffindor. I dared to turn to her, and for the second time this night, I simply stood in complete awe.

Her eyes softly looked me over, and I felt suddenly uneasy. Wasn't this the whole reason I'd come outside in the first place?

"Why did you follow me Ro?" I asked slowly. She takes another step forward, her gown shimmering in the light.

"Because you're thick." She states simply. "Did you really think I was going to stand by while she made a fool of you like that?" I didn't know what to say so I just raised an eyebrow.

"I wouldn't have expected her to act any different." I said indifferently. "It was my own fault for choosing her to go with anyway. I should have done what I initially planned. But no matter." I turned my head to the sunset. "This is every bit as gorgeous as any girl I could get tonight." Except you... I thought. She saw right through me though.

"Scor." She said. I knew she was being serious now. "We love you, you know. Nobody wants you to mope out here while she continues to flaunt her new arm candy about the castle." She's too busy continuing for her to notice I take a few steps closer to her.

"Ro." I say, cocking an eyebrow and smirking crookedly. "I'd rather just stay here with you, if that's all the same to you." She stops and blinks, and I take that moment to do what I should have done years ago.
